Kathy Kulig: Hello, Eileen. Please tell us something about yourself, where you’re from and how you became a writer.

E.F. : I've lived since age 5 in northern New Jersey, and I've probably wanted to write books for almost that long. When I first learned to print, I would fold pieces of paper in half (ironically, just about the size of today's trade paperback), draw a picture on the front and start printing a story inside. Not having any idea what I was doing, back then, I ran out of steam pretty quickly! I wrote my first short story at the end of high school, and a revision of that won a major contest my freshman year in college. By senior year I'd done a "fan-fiction" novella based on the TV soap Dark Shadows, which I shared mainly with my friends. As soon as I graduated, I started writing full-length paranormal thrillers that I sent around repeatedly to agents and editors without success. It took me decades to find a simpatico publisher, but now the final versions of most of those plots--revised many times--are finally in print through Amber Quill Press, LLC.

Kathy Kulig: What paranormal elements and characters do you incorporate in your stories? Who are your favor paranormal creatures—Vampires, werewolves, demons, etc.?

E. F.: Cliche as it sounds, I'm a vampire fan, because I think the myth has so many facets that you can interpret it in various ways, emphasizing whatever parts you want. Otherwise, I've used some fairly offbeat paranormal villains and semi-villains: a genetic-mutant CEO, an ancient fertility god and a pagan priestess with shape-shifting powers (all operating in modern times), to name a few.

Kathy Kulig: What are you working on at the moment? New release coming up?

E. F.: My latest for 2013 is the paranormal mystery Dark Music, a contemporary haunted-house story with a subplot from the turn of the century (how the ghosts ended up as ghosts). My heroine Quinn Matthews is a single, 30-something woman who tries to restore a Victorian house and becomes a target for spirits trying to work out their unfinished business through her. To "cleanse" her house, Quinn must re-investigate the murder of its first owner, a dashing classical pianist whose love life was far from "Victorian." (His ghost even attempts to put some moves on her from beyond the grave!) In the process, Quinn develops psychic gifts she never realized she possessed. I hope to keep her going as a psychic amateur sleuth, and I'm now finishing up my second Quinn Matthews Haunting Mystery, called Hex, Death and Rock'n'Roll.

Kathy Kulig: Where can readers find out about you and your books?

Welcome to the Passion Sense Blog Chris. Visitors, if you like what you read, please check out their books at:  Amazon

Kathy Kulig: Hello, Chris Redding. Please tell us something about yourself, where you’re from, and how you became a writer.

Chris Redding: I'm a mom of two boys living in New Jersey though I am originally from the Philadelphia area. I graduated from Penn State with a degree in Journalism. I have wanted to be a writer since I was ten. Maybe even before that. I don't remember.

Kathy Kulig: What paranormal elements and characters do you incorporate in your stories? Who are your favor paranormal creatures—Vampires, werewolves, demons, etc.?

Chris Redding: My paranormal element is time travel. My heroine in Corpse Whisperer is able to go back in time and solve murders at the request of the murder victims. My favorite paranormal creatures would be fairies, being mostly Irish, I'd like to think they do really exist.

Kathy Kulig: What are you working on at the moment? New release coming up?

Chris Redding: I will have three new books out this year. The first is a romantic suspense novella about an angel who hasn't received her wings yet and a preacher questioning his faith who must fend off the coming apocalypse. It will be out June 2. It's called Which Exit Angel.

THE LOST

Kathy Kulig: Hello, Caridad. Please tell us something about yourself, where you’re from, and how you became a writer.

Caridad:  Thank you for having me here, Kathy!  I appreciate it.  I started writing in the fifth grade when a teacher assigned a project:  to write a book for a class lending library.  I started writing and just never stopped.  My first novel was released in 1999 and I’ve now published nearly 40 novels/novellas.  I’m a Jersey Girl and so some of my latest works have been set along the Jersey Shore so I can share my love of my home with readers.

Kathy Kulig: What paranormal elements and characters do you incorporate in your stories? Who are your favor paranormal creatures—Vampires, werewolves, demons, etc.?

Caridad:  I love vampires and shifters of all kinds, but prefer cat kinds of shifters more than others.  I’ve written stories with all kinds of paranormal elements from mummies to ghosts to a shark-shifting goddess.  I guess that variety is one of the reasons why I love the paranormal genre so much.  But my favorites are my vampires!  My vampire series of the heart, THE CALLING, is being relaunched as THE REBORN vampire novels later this summer.

Kathy Kulig: What are you working on at the moment? New release coming up?

Caridad:  As I mentioned earlier, THE REBORN vampire novels will return later this summer with BORN TO SERVE, BORN TO LOVE and BORN TO DIE.  In the meantime, I have two novellas that are out right now,  a ghost paranormal mystery romance, GHOST OF A CHANCE, as well as a story about a shark-shifting goddess, THE SHIFTER’S KISS.

Kathy Kulig: Where can readers find out about you and your books?

Caridad:  Readers can visit me at www.caridad.com, on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/Caridad.Author, follow me on Twitter at http://twitter.com/CaridadPineiro and Pinterest where I share lots of fun things at http://pinterest.com/caridadpineiro/.

Hot Men in Masks - Lexi Post

Welcome Lexi Post to the HOT and Sexy Paranormal Memorial Day Giveaway Event.

Lexi is giving away the beautiful Venetian mask from Italy (see above) to celebrate her new release Masque from Ellora’s Cave. Leave a comment and  email for a chance to WIN.

Welcome to the Passion Sense Blog Lexi Post. Visitors, if you like what you read, please check out her books at:

Kathy Kulig: Hello, Lexi. Please tell us something about yourself, where you’re from, and how you became a writer.

Lexi Post: Well, I’m kind of from everywhere, at least within the United States. I’ve lived in NJ, NH, MA, IA, IN, AZ, DE, MD, and now I’m living in the U.S. Virgin Islands in the Caribbean.  I have to say I love the weather here (except during hurricane season). As for writing, I came to it from two directions. I was a literature major for my degrees and I fell in love with romance novels at age 14, so I was constantly flipping between Shakespeare and Kathleen Woodiwiss, Melville and Johanna Lindsay.  I guess it is no wonder that I decided to write erotic romance inspired by the classics.  For people who aren’t into classic literature, my story is a complete erotic romance with happily ever after, but for those who want to read the original first, they will find another whole level of meaning, so it is fun either way.

Kathy Kulig: What paranormal elements and characters do you incorporate in your stories? Who are your favor paranormal creatures—Vampires, werewolves, demons, etc.?

Lexi Post: My paranormal is always subtle and a bit different each time. For example, in my debut release Masque, I have 73 ghosts and a 185 year-old hero who is neither ghost nor immortal. Okay, maybe that one isn’t so subtle. It’s because this story was inspired by Edgar Allan Poe’s short story “The Masque of the Red Death.” You see, Rena Mills plans to turn an abandoned abbey into a haunted bed-and-breakfast to prove she can be successful without her ex-fiancĂ©. What she finds inside is Synn MacAllistair, the distinguished, self-proclaimed Ghost Keeper. Her dreams soon fill with sexual cravings for him.

Synn, born in 1828, is determined to free the souls of the resident spirits, blaming himself for bringing the Red Death that killed them. When Rena steps into the old Pleasure Palace, he’s sure he can take her through the 7 after-midnight Pleasure Rooms and stoke her passion to complete the Masque so the souls can cross over. Her innocent fire makes him crave more, but it’s far too late for him.

As Rena begins her erotic journey, her heart becomes more involved with every sensual caress until she discovers by completing the Masque she will lose her ghosts! Synn’s betrayal wars with her compassion for her ghostly friends. Torn, she must make a choice between her financial security and freeing 73 trapped souls. Either way, she could lose her Synn.

As for which paranormal creatures I favor, when it comes to reading, I have to say shifters. I’m an animal lover at heart, so these human animals really tug at my heart strings J

Kathy Kulig: What are you working on at the moment? New release coming up?

Lexi Post: I am working on a couple projects right now. I have a new book to be released this fall by Ellora’s Cave called Passion’s Poison.  In this erotic romance inspired by Nathaniel Hawthorne’s “Rappaccini’s Daughter,” the paranormal element came from the original story. Beatrice Rappaccini is poisonous.  However, in my story she has to release those poisons to stay alive by having sex with unsuspecting men, and the men, well, let’s just say they don’t feel so good afterwards. This does cause a bit of a problem when Bea falls head over heels in love. I mean, really, she could easily kill the man simply by losing herself in the moment!

The other project I’m working on, as in writing furiously, is the Passion of Sleepy Hollow. As you can imagine, this story was inspired by Washington Irving’s “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” and its paranormal element involves an 18th century witch and a disappearing village. The heroine lives in Old Time and the hero lives in New Time, so I guess you could say their time together is limited, unless of course they make love. This story does include the Headless Horseman. In fact, he’s the hero!

Specters, Ghosts, Psychics in Irene Peterson's World

Welcome Irene Peterson to the HOT and Sexy Paranormal Memorial Day Giveaway Event.

Kiss My Ectoplasm

Welcome to the Passion Sense Blog , IrenePeterson . Visitors, if you like what you read, please check out her books at:
Amazon
Barnes & Noble

Kathy Kulig: Hello, Irene! Please tell us something about yourself, where you’re from, and how you became a writer.

Irene :  Well, Kathy, I'm a Jersey girl, born and raised right in the middle of the state.  Went to school here, went to college upstate in Montclair. I just learned last night that the wife (Carmela?) in the Sopranos claimed to have gone there.  That would explain a lot.  But I digress.  I became a writer when I was twelve. My teacher told me I could really write well, and that was enough for me.  I have only stopped writing during the time I had and raised my girls.  As soon as they were old enough to leave me alone for a while, I went right back to writing.  And because of my girls, who are now grown up, I knew I didn't want them to be ashamed of me, so my romances are on the lighter side.  No instruction manuals from me!

Kathy Kulig: What paranormal elements and characters do you incorporate in your stories? Who are your favorite paranormal creatures—Vampires, werewolves, demons, etc.?

Irene: My favorite paranormal topic has to do with psychic phenomena.  As a bit of a sensitive, I am familiar with "those weird feelings" one gets when you feel something nobody else can. I am not a medium...that would freak me out.  I have seen ghosts, though, so Kiss My Ectoplasm contains two great ghosts, and a psychic who can see them and a physicist who can't.

Kathy Kulig: What are you working on at the moment? New release coming up?

Irene:  When I was ill for some months, I wrote an unvampire novella.  I was so sick, I didn't know if it even made sense. The vampire is the bad guy, not the romantic hero. Turned out it wasn't gibberish, so I put it up on Amazon.  But the hero needed more stories, so I've decided to do at least three.  The first story is called Dead Dreams.  The one I'm working on now is Dead Meat which I hope to have up on Amazon and Nook in mid-June.  The third will be Still Dead.  I haven't gotten around to thinking beyond that, but one never knows.

Kathy Kulig: Where can readers find out about you and your books?

Irene:  My website can be found at www.irenepeterson.com.  I'm on MySpace (can't give it up) and Facebook in two places...just Irene Peterson and Irene Peterson, author.  I'm alive and well at http://peachette48.livejournal.com and there's something going on at Goodreads and LinkedIn and one I always seem to forget.  Google+?

As you can see, I rely on my daughters to help me as they are both incredibly tech savvy and I am just about hopeless and helpless without them. One of my girls does the cover work for me.  She's a genius.  The other one has a real job--she's a geologist.

Kathy Kulig: Thank you for interviewing today on my Passion Sense Blog. Good luck with Kiss My Ectoplasm and we look forward to having you back.

The Sensual World of Veronica Tower

Welcome Veronica Tower to the HOT and Sexy Paranormal Memorial Day Giveaway Event.
Veronica is offering a free copy of Healing. Her sexy and mysterious, paranormal story.

Welcome to the Passion Sense Blog, VeronicaTower. Visitors, if you like what you read, please check out their books at:

Red Rose Publishing

Kathy Kulig: Hello, Veronica, Please tell us something about yourself, where you’re from, and how you became a writer.

Veronica Tower: Thanks for having me on your blog today, Kathy. It’s always hard to know where to begin with this whole How did you become a writer? question. I guess it started when I was sitting on my mother’s lap listening to her read to me. I’ve always had a very active imagination and enjoyed putting myself into the plots of the books we were reading. It was a very short step to making up my own stories. Eventually I got to the point where I wanted to share them with other people enough that I was willing to risk the pain of rejection and start submitting to publishers. Thirty books and stories later I can’t imagine not writing.

Kathy Kulig: What paranormal elements and characters do you incorporate in your stories? Who are your favor paranormal creatures—Vampires, werewolves, demons, etc.?

Veronica Tower: Healing is my first paranormal story and it focuses on a young man with the power to cure disease and repair physical injuries through the magic of sexual union. I hope that isn’t a spoiler. It’s an erotic romance after all so I figure anyone who reads the book blurb will figure out sex has to be involved in the cure. As in most paranormal stories, power isn’t an unadulterated good so there’s a lot more to this tale than fixing my heroine’s broken spine. Get ready for a tense and sexy ride.

As to paranormal creatures, what don’t I like? In the right hands, vampires, werewolves, fae and angels can all be so sexy and intriguing. I’m looking forward to seeing what other books you spotlight on this paranormal weekend so I can try out some new authors.

Kathy Kulig: What are you working on at the moment? New release coming up?

Veronica Tower: My next paranormal book will most likely be a werewolf story. I’ve been playing with the plot for a few months now. My next release from Ellora’s Cave is a very hot science fiction book called Jewel.

Kathy Kulig: Where can readers find out about you and your books?

Veronica Tower: My website is at veronicatower.com. I’d love to have everyone visit.

Kathy Kulig: Thank you for interviewing today on my Passion Sense Blog. Good luck with Healing and  Jewel sounds like an awesome story too! We look forward to having you back.

Cat And Mouse

Kathy Kulig: Hello, Shelley. Please tell us something about yourself, where you’re from, and how you became a writer.

Shelley: I live in New Zealand with my husband and a rambunctious puppy called Bella. A huge reader all my life, writing seemed a natural progression, although it took me a while to get serious. First boys distracted me and then, once I married, my husband and I went to the UK and spent time working and traveling. Six years in fact. One day I woke up and decided if I didn’t start writing soon, I’d never start. It was a turning point for me, and I haven’t looked back!

Kathy Kulig: What paranormal elements and characters do you incorporate in your stories? Who are your favor paranormal creatures—Vampires, werewolves, demons, etc.?

Shelley: I adore feline shifters, although I have written a couple of werewolves. My Middlemarch Mates series features mainly leopard shifters. I enjoy the sleek, powerful bodies of felines, their grace and sneakiness. They’re often loners but when they find the right woman—wow!

Kathy Kulig: What are you working on at the moment? New release coming up?

Shelley: I’m in the planning stages of a new series—a spinoff from my current Middlemarch Mates series. The big, bad kitties are heading off-planet and the new series will take place in the future.

I also have a contemporary romance called Past Regrets coming out in September from Samhain Publishing.

Naked Statues with Berengaria Brown

Welcome Berengaria Brown to the HOT and Sexy Paranormal Memorial Day Giveaway Event.

Welcome to the Passion Sense Blog BerengariaBrown. Visitors, if you like what you read, please check out her books at: https://www.ellorascave.com/index.php/authors/index/author/slug/berengaria-brown/

Kathy Kulig: Hello, Berengaria. Please tell us something about yourself, where you’re from, and how you became a writer.

Berengaria: My father had to watch me when I was very small and my Mom was ill. So he taught me to read. Thus I was a reader long before I was a writer. Then one day I had no books to read so I began to write one. I finished it, sent it to a publisher, and still had no books to read, so I began writing another one. The rest, as they say, is history.

Kathy Kulig: What paranormal elements and characters do you incorporate in your stories? Who are your favor paranormal creatures—Vampires, werewolves, demons, etc.?

Berengaria: Mostly werewolves. I have quite a few werewolf books (at a different publisher). I also have some dragon shapeshifters (at a different publisher) as well. But any shapeshifter fascinates me, hence these statues, which are not only naked, but also different.

Kathy Kulig: What are you working on at the moment? New release coming up?

Berengaria: Sadly, right now, the day job is sucking all the energy from me. I have vacation booked for September so I hope to sit on a beach and write then.

Naked Statues”: Blurb

A series of naked, well-endowed statues in the Botanical Gardens encourages lovers Fleur, Ricky and Heath to indulge in some hot, naughty public sex. But there’s more to these statues than rock-hard abs…

Lily and Flynn have been trapped inside a statue since last Halloween. When a mischievous god with a love of all things sexual swaps them for the trio of lovers, can the strength of their love set them all free?

Excerpt PG13

“Oh my goodness! Now this one I like,” laughed Fleur, climbing up the steps onto a statue in the Botanical Gardens. She slid between the legs of the man of stone and rested her mouth over its extra large penis.

“This one’s so much better endowed than the angel with the long, curly hair we saw over there a ways.”

Ulric snapped a photo of her on his phone, saying, “Sweetie, that was no angel. That was Eros, and trust me, his behavior is said to be anything but angelic!”

“I wouldn’t expect anything else from the God of Love and Sex!” She jumped down from the statue to look at the photo with him. Meanwhile Heath had kept walking, his gaze on a statue down a short pathway on their right.

“Hey, Ricky, you’ll like this one better, I promise,” called Heath.

Fleur ran to see what Heath was looking at and Ulric ambled along behind his two partners. He loved them both equally, and as a triad they had some spectacular sex, but he didn’t always understand their thought patterns. Especially Fleur’s. He grinned, remembering when he first met them. He’d hated having to go to that charity dinner. Then the three had all been left sitting at the table when their tablemates got up to dance. They’d started talking, and the relationship had exploded from there.

While the idea of spending a sunny Saturday afternoon walking around the Botanical Gardens was totally not his scene, Fleur had wanted to come, Heath was agreeable, and as Ricky hadn’t had any better ideas of things to do, here they were. Besides, he was amused at Fleur’s enthusiastic explanation that the trip to the gardens was all about their names. She’d said Fleur was French for flower, and Heath was a kind of plant, and gardens always had flowers and plants. Also, Ulric means wolf and she’d heard a statue of a wolf was to be found in the gardens. Maybe next weekend we’d better go to the zoo. Ricky grinned to himself and caught up to the others. Heath was staring up at a statue of a woman wearing nothing much, with one huge breast exposed.

“Climb up and kiss it, Heath, and I’ll take your photo,” called Fleur.

Heath shrugged the backpack off his shoulders and took a run up to the statue, catching hold of her elbows and kissing the breast, before dropping back to the ground.

The three laughed over the rather blurry photo on Fleur’s phone, then Heath picked up his backpack and they continued walking along the little path, which took another turn.

“We seem to be walking around this neverending hedge-thing. I wonder what it is,” commented Fleur.

Still another turn took them to the opening in the hedge and a sign.

“It’s a maze! Oh, awesome. Come on,” called Fleur, running inside. “Right or left?”

Ricky scanned the sign, but there was no key to the maze there. “Likely we’ll be stuck here for a hundred years, slowly starving and turning into skeletons,” he wailed in as mournful a voice as he could manage.

“Our bones will be found by archeologists on a dig in the year 2100,” added Heath in a sepulchral tone.

But Fleur just laughed, turning right and left as they meandered through the maze.
